Picture(s) of the Day

This morning I gathered eight eggs. There may be more later, a few of the hens seem to hold out until evening.

This is a sign I have in my kitchen. I wonder how long it has been since eggs were only ten cents a dozen.

I still think it is so cool your getting to gather your own eggs. I really wish we lived somewhere where we could have chickens. I really like doing things like that. Maybe some day we can.

Janda,
When we lived in town, we had chickens in the backyard. I'd be happy to add you to my egg delivery list if you'd like. Sadie and I are selling them for $1.50 a dozen and trying to deliver on Wednesdays.

Laura Ben and I have been researching the chicken thing and think we are going to build a coop and raise some. I think the kids will love it. If you have any pointers let me know. I don't know much about it. We probably will start after spring break. Do you have any fertal eggs you want to sell to us to hatch or do you think just buying the chickens is the best way to start??? I would like to come out sometime if I could and see your set up and get a chicken lesson.

Janda--
I'd love for you to come out sometime. Our set up is pretty basic. Robert Lee also loves for people, especially kids, to stop by and visit, too. Our eggs are not fertile (if they are, it will be a wierd cross anyway.) I think I'll post about where we got our pullets, etc. Call anytime.
